Home to the oldest protected rainforest in the western hemisphere, this is a truly lush island, frequently described as ‘The last of the unspoilt Caribbean’. Some of David Attenboorough’s 'Trials Of Life' series were filmed at the Little Tobago Seabird Sanctuary, and underwater explorer Jaques Cousteau was enraptured by the coral reefs, which are easily seen through the crystal clear waters. Many or just offshore from the beach, making snorkelling easy and one of the great pleasures of a Tobagonian sojourn. Rare turtles lay their eggs here at certain times of the year - you can take an exciting nocturnal excursion to watch them.
The friendly villagers will delight you - during harvest festivals, they thro open their doors to passing revellers. As the sun sets, the toot of a conch shell calls the fisherman hoe with their seine nets and the socca rhythm’s start to fill the air. It’s a music evolved from Calypso, and its even blended with rap to produce ‘rapso’.

The lovely long sandy beach has a popular beach bar and grill where guests can enjoy lunchtime snacks. In the evenings you can book into Neptune's Restaurant, which is perched on a little elevated open-air veranda overlooking the pool. If you're a squash fanatic, you'll be pleased to know that Grafton has the island's only squash courts, while if you're interested in the local way of life you can get up early and watch fishermen pull in their catch. Guests sometimes lend a helping hand and find out what the catch of the day is before the chef. Alternatively, see fish in their natural environment as this is a good bay for snorkelling.
