From the moment I arrived I was in awe of the Gothic architecture and dramatic scenery. The city has a far more cosmopolitan vibe than many of its central European neighbours, yet still manages to retain much of its traditional character - see the Turkish baths (an absolute must) for an example. The many bars and restaurants on offer are phenomenally good value - I had the biggest plate of ribs and chips I have ever eaten, with wine and entertainment all for less than £6.
